PRESS RELEASE – THE high standards set by Sandals Resorts International continues to be a major attraction for hospitality institutions world over, and last week the World’s Best All-Inclusive Resort Chain welcomed a diverse group of over 30 young hospitality professionals to begin a six-month practical training programme across the three Sandals Resorts in Saint Lucia.
The internship programme exposes university students from countries like Switzerland, The Netherlands, Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago, Bali and Hong Kong to the world-famous Sandals Service Standards and operations.
The individuals studying various management disciplines will be spread across several departments, including Maintenance and Engineering, Weddings, Food & Beverage, Resort Sales, Concierge and Butler Service and Culinary Arts.
Regional Group Manager for Human Resources and Training at Sandals Resorts International in the Eastern Caribbean, Ryan Matthew, says Sandals Resorts across the Caribbean are welcoming similar groups of interns at the respective properties.
He said the practical internship helps to produce exceptional hospitality professionals poised to take the industry in a millennial direction.
“We are literally in a revolutionary period in the global hospitality industry and we at Sandals Resorts have not only recognized this but we are embracing it and doing our best to prepare the next generation of professionals to manage it effectively,” Matthew said.
From its inception in 1981, Sandals Resorts International (SRI) has invested heavily in the training and development of its workforce across borders and has sought to extend its reach to universities and students around the world.
