Joseph thanked the public for assisting and contributing towards the relief efforts of Dominica. She also encouraged the public to continue to assist with the tremendous support to Dominica and to consider contributing towards the shortfall of building supplies.

Joseph spoke of the Return to Happiness (RTH) facilitators who have been deployed to Dominica to assist with the psychological needs of children arising out of the traumatic experience of the hurricane. The deployment was based on a request from UNICEF.

M&C Shipping, through the Geest Shipping Line, has also been providing assistance to NEMO by making available unlimited containers to pack items donated by the public and also facilitating the free shipment of these containers to Dominica. To date, a total of eight containers have left Saint Lucia with the assistance of M&C Shipping.

Fabian Jagroop, Sales and Marketing Representative of M&C Shipping, thanked his team for their support for working outside of regular hours to ensure that the containers left Saint Lucia. He said the usual fortnightly service to Dominica has been increased to a weekly one to facilitate the shipment of relief supplies into the island. This service would be made available by M&C as long as it is required.
