PRESS RELEASE – M&C Drugstore, a member of the M&C Group of Companies, is proud to be part of the fight against breast cancer.
The company joined many organizations around St. Lucia to raise awareness during the month of October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The drugstore has undertaken a number of awareness-raising activities centred around breast cancer and the impact it has on women and their families.
The Pink Friday Campaign, for example, allowed staff members at all five drugstore locations to wear pink on Friday, October 20 to show support for the cause. The Bridge Street branch held a balloon popping activity which allowed customers a chance to pop a pink balloon for a prize at a cost of $1. All the funds collected will be donated to Faces of Cancer St Lucia.
Customers were treated with pink cupcakes at various M&C drugstore locations. Staff members wore a pink ribbon for the duration of October to show support. Each location (Rodney Bay, Gablewoods Mall, Bridge Street, Soufriere and Vieux Fort) was decked out in pink and white decorations and store front display of pink items, and distributed pamphlets to customers with information on breast cancer.
Determined to reduce the number of breast cancer-related deaths in St Lucia through early detection, M&C Drugstore has committed to sponsoring 5 mammograms to the Faces of Cancer Annual Breast Health Fair held in communities around St Lucia.
M&C Drugstore is committed to promoting health and wellness. Currently, the drugstore has a discount of 15% on selected vitamins to all customers from October 23 to 31, 2017.
