13 for OECS Boxing Invitational

THE Saint Lucia National Boxing Association has selected a thirteen-man team to represent Saint Lucia at the upcoming OECS Invitational Boxing Championships which takes place from April 27-29 at the Beausejour Indoor Facility from 8.00 p.m.

Leading Saint Lucia’s charge at the championship is 2016 Junior and Senior Male Boxers of the Year Nathan Ferrari and Lyndell Marcellin, and the Best Youth Boxer at the 2nd Annual Caribbea Youth Development Boxing Championship in Barbados in December last year, Omar Christopher.

The remainder of the squad reads as follows: Marvin Anthony, Kareem Boyce, Nyran David, Zidan St. Ange, KimlynMartie, Leeran Regis, Devon Layne, Jwevel Marty, Davie Joseph and JovannusFevrier. The team’s Head Coach is Conrad Fredericks and Assistant Coach Arthur Langelier.

The local boxers will come up against over forty visiting boxers from Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Guadeloupe and Grenada.

Like previous championships held here, the Saint Lucia Boxing Association promises a high level of competition amongst the boxers and good entertainment throughout the championship.
