Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 18-year-old Nigel Emmanuel of Jacmel, Anse La Raye.
Emmanuel was swimming in the Roseau River on Monday this week around 4:30 p.m. when he allegedly encountered difficulties and submerged.
His body was discovered some time later and was transported to the Victoria Hospital where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
A post mortem will be scheduled at a later date.
