An approaching tropical wave interacting with an upper level trough is expected to produce adverse weather conditions over Saint Lucia for the next 48 hours.
Associated with this tropical wave are moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms. Rainfall estimates of 20 to 45 mm per day can be expected over the Windward Islands over the next 2 days. As a result, residents of Saint Lucia in areas prone to flooding and landslides are advised to remain vigilant since the moisture content in the soil is already very high.
Small craft operators should not venture far from port due to a reduction in visibility.
The Saint Lucia Meteorological Service will closely monitor this feature and will issue additional statements if necessary.
