Rain Mars Weekend Cricket

THE Duckworth Lewis method was the order of the day as the inclement weather impacted all four of the Saint Lucia T20 Cup quarterfinals over the weekend.

On Saturday at the Mindoo Phillip Park, Central and South Castries secured victories which sent them into the semifinals.

Central Castries defeated Mabouya Valley by 33 runs on the D/L Method. Batting first, Central Castries scored 149 for 5 in 18 overs. In reply, Mabouya Valley made 19 for 2 in 5 overs.

In the second match of the day, South Castries defeated Soufriere by 29 runs on the D/L Method. Batting first, South Castries scored 128. In reply, Soufriere were 50 for 7 in 10.1 overs.

On Sunday at the Piaye playing field Laborie defeated Gros Islet by 16 runs on the D/L Method.

Batting first, Laborie scored 129 for 2 in 18 overs.In reply, Gros Islet scored 38 for 5 in 6.4 overs.

The second match of the day was abandoned as a no-result – the minimum number of over five to constitute a match was attained.Micoud were 87 for 8 in 13 overs.In reply Choiseul 13 for 1 in 4.2 overs.

According to the SLNCA, the match between Micoud and Choiseul will be rescheduled to a date to be decided.
