Twenty-seven-year old Johann M. Harewood has been appointed Assistant Secretary General of the National Workers Union (NWU).
The UWI (St. Augustine) graduate holds a BSc. (Hons) in Economics and Management and a Certificate of Education in Economics. He also holds qualifications as a UWI Certified Mediator, having completed a course in practical mediation two years ago.
Harewood, who has been employed with the National Workers Union for about five years as Finance Administrator, will now assume industrial relations responsibilities. He has attended trade union training sessions both locally and regionally and the National Workers Union is quite pleased with his progress thus far.
