FORGET their serious expressions for the moment. These four will, for the first time, enter the doors of a secondary school this September. They are all delighted, because each received a scholarship cheque and bag of goodies from the St. Lucia Workers Credit Union.
Every year, for the past 20 years, the credit union sponsors two top performers at the Common Entrance Examinations who are children of its members with scholarships for their five years at secondary school.
The credit union also sponsors two needy children of its members who likewise performed exceptionally well in the exams with bursaries for their five year stay in secondary school.
This time around, the boys outnumbered the girls. Here are the deserving four: Flanking ShericeGajadhar who will be entering St. Joseph’s Convent areJn Neil Alexander (St. Mary’s College), Dequan St. Omer (St. Mary’s College) and ShequainMathurin (Leon Hess Comprehensive).
