A ten member track and field team will represent the St. Lucia Teachers Union at the 30th Caribbean Union of Teachers track and field Championships in Tortola, British Virgin Islands July (15 – 16).
This year’s CUT Games will bring together close to 500 of the best athletes from the region between the ages of 8 and 14 years from at least 23 countries across the region, in the spirit of Caribbean unity and friendly rivalry.
In the Under – 9 category, Genavive Mann and Shaquan Jean will face the starters pisto for the 80 metres and 150 metres for girls and boys.
In the under – 11 boys and girls category, Ryan Simeon will battle it out in the 100 metres and 200 metres. The ever improving Naomi London will compete in the 100 metres, 200 metres, Long Jump and Cricket Ball Throw and Jada Emmanuel will do the 300 metres.
In the Girls under – 13 category, Joy Edward will compete in the 100 metres, 200 metres and Long Jump, while KadeemLarcher will compete in the 100 metres.
In the Under,15 boys and girls category, Zoe Dorville will run in the 100 metres, 200 metres; Miguel Charlery will compete in the 200 metres, 400 metres, Long Jump, and High Jump and Yannick Letang will do the 100 metres and Shot Putt.
For St.Lucia three of the team have had international competitive experience. Dorville is a double medallist at the Caribbean Under-15 Championships this year; while Charlery and Edward made it to 2015 Central American and Caribbean Age Group Championships.
