A 41-YEAR-OLD mother of one is appealing to Good Samaritans to assist her financially as she desperately needs medical attention in Martinique.

She was admitted to hospital for eight days and later diagnosed with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), an umbrella term for situations where the blood supplied to the heart muscle is suddenly blocked.
Symptoms of ACS include chest pains, shortness of breath, nausea, sweating, light-headedness and pain in one or both arms, the jaw, neck, back or stomach.
She said doctors told her last February that she needed to get an angiogram done. However, she was unable to travel to the neighbouring French department because she could not raise the 5000 Euros needed to get the test done.
Gregoire, affectionately known as “Baby”, said she and her relatives have since hosted a bar-be-cue and also have other small fund-raisers at the Grande Riviere playing field on Sundays to raise funds to pay her medical costs. To date, she has managed to raise EC$4000. She fears that by delaying the test, her condition can worsen.
“If it’s not rectified as soon as possible, it can be fatal,” Gregoire told The VOICE yesterday. “The doctors have told me that the sooner I get that test done, the better for me. The more I wait, they said, the worse the condition gets.”
Gregoire said that while the financial assistance she is now seeking covers only the cost of the angiogram, she is desperate to travel to Martinique to at least start her medical treatment. She said she was hospitalized just last week and said any contribution made will be appreciated.
Gregoire also produced a letter from Victoria Hospital dated April 29, 2016 spelling out her condition and the costs associated with the angiogram, signed by the Senior House Officer. She said that while she is not too proud to ask for assistance, people should not be hesitant to support her in whatever small way they can.
“Nobody expects sickness. Today might be my turn and tomorrow someone else’s. So please don’t find it difficult to contribute because we don’t know where we stand as far as our health is concerned. I would have never imagined having this heart condition,” Gregoire explained.

This where all the 7th day Adventist churches from every district should come together and help their own along with the public. There are so many seventh day Adventist churches around St Lucia. They should all throw concerts in their own district to help their own or collect a special offering for her. Or why can’t the tithe monies which they collect every payday go out to a member who is in need for once.
The Seventh Day Adventist church members around the island can only assist in cases that they are aware of. I only hope that she and persons close to her spread the word using other avenues since not everyone reads news off the internet. Now that it is made known, to some, I am pretty sure that members will do their part. Be courageous my dear God always steps in on time.
Please folks in any way possible let us help the young lady in any way possible even is 20 dollars it will go a long way, and forget the church she belong to , or the political party she supports, or whatever she associates with, dont look down on someone if you cant pick him up, can be anyone tomorrow. So let us help everytime we get a chance, and it will return as blessings to us.
