The St. Lucia Crisis Centre held its annual Christmas party for the children attending the Afterschool Programme – sponsored by the Sandals Foundation – at its Chaussee Road premises on Thursday, December 10, 2015.
The skies were overcast, but the mood inside was festive. One of our sponsors, LIME, set up a tent on the lawn, where some of the children sat and played board games, while some others, volunteers and staff, danced to Caribbean Christmas music.
St. James Club, Morgan Bay, catered for the event, and about twelve members of their staff were on hand to serve and interact with the children. The Sandals Foundation has sponsored the party for several years, and they were on hand again this year with their annual gifts for the children, and even more goodies. Some members of their staff were also on hand, as well as Santa Claus. The children took pictures with Santa, amid much laughter and ribbing from their counterparts. It was indeed a very pleasant break from some of the more serious issues that the Centre deals with on a daily basis.
The Crisis Centre sincerely thanks LIME, the Sandals Foundation, St. James Club Morgan Bay, Ferrand’s Dairy and Blue Waters for making the children’s party a reality this year. We recognise and admire your commitment to society, and we are deeply grateful and appreciative.
