THE St. Lucia Rugby Football Union (SLRFU) will be launching four newly formed rugby clubs on Sunday at the Mindoo Phillip Park.
The ceremony will be followed immediately by a 7-a-side tournament that will run for the entire day. Both male and female teams will be participating in the tournament to crown the National Day Champs.
The programme for the launch includes the playing of the national anthem on steel pan by two students from the Camille Henry Memorial School, remarks by the President of the St.Lucia Olympic Committee Fortuna Belrose and a representative of the Ministry for Youth Development and Sports, followed by a presentation of registration of membership to the respective clubs and recitation of the rugby core values.
Clubs that will be launched on the day are Sir Arthur Lewis Community College Rugby Club, Fighting Mongoose Rugby Club, VBCC Stingers Rugby Club and the Whiptail Warriors Rugby Club.
According to the SLRFU, admission is free and all are invited to witness this historic event.
