THE Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has rolled out what it calls a strategic plan to combat criminality just for the Christmas season. However the announcement of the plan is just about all the Force is willing to say about it.
Efforts to get details about the plan were fruitless, but the Police were quick to point to some success they say was as a result of their strategy.
In fact, though they were not generous in the details of their plan, the lawmen gave the public the assurance of their commitment to maintaining law and order during the festive season.
Meanwhile Brian Louisy, the Chamber of Commerce’s executive director, is calling on businesses to take the necessary precaution in safeguarding their business premises and employees during the festive season.
“I just want everyone to take the necessary precaution where the safety of their businesses and employees are concerned during this time of the year,” Louisy said.
He more or less reiterated the police advice to businesses houses last week, to ‘think crime prevention’ during the season.
“If you own a business, particularly one that deals in cash, there is a good chance that one day it will be robbed,” police pointed out in calling on businesses houses to think crime prevention.
