FOLLOWING closely on the heels of the ARC/Flotilla and the Mango Bowl Regatta, the Gros Islet Bay will be a hive of sailing activity from 3.00 p.m. today with a another Regatta.
The Club des Gommiers Regatta will culminate activities here and that will be followed with an awards ceremony at the Gros Islet Waterfront this evening.
The Club des Gommiers Boat Race now into its year crossed the finish line in Gros Islet yesterday. The race that started off from Martinique from 9.00 a.m. saw six Gommiers boats and ten paddling canoes with a combined total of 100 male / female participants making the trip to St.Lucia.
Upon arrival the participants were welcomed by the Gros Islet Constituency Council and the St. Lucia Tourist Board with addresses by a number of government officials and members of the diplomatic corp including French Ambassador Eric De La Moussaye.
