Digicel continues to change lives across the nation under its “Brighten Your Christmas” theme.
Coming on the heels of its Feed the Need programme in which the communities of Laborie, Vieux Fort and Choiseul received hearty Christmas breakfasts, Digicel’s Hamper Distribution programme got underway this week with deliveries to a host of organizations, charities, families and individuals.
The two day drive commenced on Wednesday in communities such as Cas en Bas, Balata, Marchand, Ciceron and Water Works Road. Special surprise deliveries were made to the Adelaide’s Home, St. Lucy’s Home and the Transit Home. The project continued on Thursday with more deliveries in Bruceville, Vieux-Fort, Laborie, Belle Fond and new Development, Soufriere.
Among the many recipients were persons with disabilities, the visually impaired, bedridden, sick and shut-in, underprivileged families, senior citizens and others. The Living Water Home in Soufriere, Comfort Bay Senior Citizens Home and the community relations branch of the St Lucia Royal Police Force were also recipients of Digicel Hampers.
Said Tessa Antoine-Valace, Digicel’s Marketing Communications Manager. “Digicel is always happy to give back to persons in the communities and a special joy comes when sharing with those who have supported us and stayed by our side throughout the years. Giving and sharing is who we are and what we do at Digicel; it is embedded in our DNA and we will continue to do so”.
This Christmas season Digicel has impacted many lives and created unforgettable memories for families. Antoine-Valace added: “We recognize that our corporate social responsibility doesn’t begin and end at Christmas and will continue to maintain our year-long commitments and social programmes, ensuring that the people of St Lucia enjoy a better quality of life”.
