FOOTBALL action continued over the weekend in the St.Lucia Football Association Inter District Under – 18, the Dr. Kenny Anthony Cup and the Roseau Valley Knock Out competition played at various venues.

On Saturday, at the Augier playing Field in the Southern Zone, Vieux-Fort North went on a demolition spree when they annihilated Choiseul 7 – 0, while in Game No. 2, Soufriere defeated Laborie 2 – 0.

At the Micoud Playing Field in the Eastern Zone, the home team suffered a 1 – 0 loss to Dennery, while the match between Desruisseaux and Mon Repos did not come off as Mon Repos failed to show up for their encounter.

On Sunday, in the Northern Zone, Castries and Marchand played to a 3 – 3 draw.

Meanwhile, Sunday also saw the opening of the Dr. Kenny Anthony Cup in Vieux-Fort South. Only one of the two scheduled matches was played as the condition at the Dames Playing Field was not conducive due to persistent heavy rain.

In the only match played, Bruceville and Shamballa played to a 3 – 3 draw with Kernan Joseph scoring twice for Bruceville.

The tournament continues today with Up Town taking on Platinum at the Dames Playing Field.

In the Roseau Valley Super 8 Knock Out competition played on Sunday, Marigot FC defeated Sarrot Scorpions 6 – 2. For Marigot FC the goal scorers – Mandella William in the eight minute, Keyianny William in the 35th minute, Kevin James in the 48th, 56th and 62nd minute (hat trick) and Jamile Phillip in the 66th minute.

For Sarrot Scorpions Emmanuel in the 15th minute and Dwain Felix in the 70th minute.

In the second game of the double header, Derandeau FC and Morne d’ Or played to a goalless draw after regulation time sending the encounter into penalty kicks. Morne d’Or winning 5 – 4.
