ST LUCIA recorded two more homicides over the weekend.
Officers attached to the Soufriere Police Station are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of 34-year-old, Claudius Dominique Alexander of Fond Benier, Soufriere.
The report was received about 11:50 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014.
It is alleged that a 73-year-old licensed firearm holder of Fond Beniere, Soufriere was doing a routine security check of his compound, as he has had two prior break-ins to his taxi during the course of a week.
While making the rounds, he observed a male entering into his yard and walking towards his parked omnibus. The male used a key and gained entry into the locked vehicle.
It is also alleged that the licensed firearm holder, fired a single gunshot in the direction of Alexander hitting him who fled the scene and was later discovered lying on the road at Fond Benier by a passerby who then summoned the police.
Alexander was transported to the Soufriere Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A post mortem examination is scheduled for a later date.
The licensed firearm holder is assisting police with investigations.
Meanwhile, at about 8:15 p.m. on Sunday, officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department of the Southern Division received a report of chopping at Augier, Vieux Fort.
On arrival at the scene, the officers observed a young male lying in a ravine with wounds to the body. This individual was identified as 19-year-old NemiahJn Pierre of Augier.
Jn Pierre was pronounced dead on the scene by a medical practitioner and was transported to the Rambally’s Funeral Palour. A post mortem examination is scheduled for a later date.
Police say no one has been arrested in relation to this homicide. They are appealing to anyone who has information that can assist with their investigation of this homicide, to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at telephone numbers 456 3926 or 456 3924.
This is a reflection of the state of mind of this nation’s young people. Murderous fiends. Life has become poor, nasty, brutish and short for the young of this country. The life expectancy for the young is going down to age 20 for a lot of those. Note the ages. Most of these are uneducated. Therefore, the older folk and the country at large is not at all worse off without them. So, ‘good riddance to bad rubbish’.
