This Christmas season community radio station 88.5 Soufriere FM and internationally acclaimed TV and radio presenter Delia Dolor of the Dolor Factor have joined forces to pioneer a new radio programme series called, “Food For Thought”.
This live interactive feature will be hosted by Delia Dolor, alongside Baby Bree of 88.5 FM, with special guest, Executive Chef Nigel Mitchel of Ladera Resort.
The radio programme hopes to highlight the more whimsical and enjoyable side of the Christmas season all the while incorporating the famous culinary traditions that make Christmas so memorable.
“We are pleased to have on board Ms Dolor to pilot this fresh and engaging series to add that extra pizzazz to our diversity of programming during this Christmas season and beyond” quoted Radio Station Coordinator, Lester Cazaubon.
The programme will air at 10:00 am from Monday December 8th 2014 and run through three consecutive Mondays. Listeners can listen on 88.5 FM or on the stations online feed at http://885soufrierefm.com/.
This is a first in high profile partnerships for the radio station nestled in the rich historical town of Soufriere. 88.5 FM initially began in 2010 as a project jointly funded by UNESCO and the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation – it is now solely funded and managed by the Soufriere Foundation.
As a result of its diverse program content and focus on things local, it quickly grew to become the radio station of choice in the Soufriere basin and environs. According to Dominic Alexander, Project and Operations Manager at the Soufriere Foundation, “partnerships that focus on promoting things local, like Delia’s, are key to the success of community radio. To this end we remain open to working with other persons to achieve our mandate of giving a voice to the people”.
