STAFF members of Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa last week took the goodwill and spirit of Christmas to over one hundred residents of the south through visits and donations to three education and care institutions.
On Friday, last week staff members clad in Santa Claus outfits visited the Lions Pre School, St Jude Hospital Paediatric Ward and the Comfort Bay Senior Citizens Home. During these visits the “Coconut Bay Santas” donated toys, hampers and engaged in Carolling and entertainment of their audiences. A quantity of linen (hand and bath towels, bed sheets and pillow cases) were donated as well to the St Jude Hospital and the Senior Citizens Home.
The Christmas Outreach campaign is an annual undertaking of Coconut Bay with the objective of: “bringing joy and warmth to those in need during the season of goodwill”. Administrators at the three institutions visited expressed gratitude and appreciation to Coconut Bay for the demonstration of goodwill.
Apart from the linen, the donation of food items and toys was made possible through monetary and material donations by Coconut Bay management, staff and guests. Coconut Bay said it is committed to spearheading and facilitating assistance in a strategic manner to needy and targeted groups in the south of the island.
Christmas is a special occasion which provides us with another opportunity to give back. The hotel recently adopted a sponsorship policy which streamline’s its philanthropic efforts and response to donation request in line with a corporate social identity that focusses on youth, the elderly and the education and health sector,” a release said.
