REPRESENTATIVES of Sandals Resorts and the Sandals Foundation concluded their Santa drive at the Balata Combined School on Friday morning last week.
The jolly old Santa handed out gifts to 150 excited children who could barely contain themselves and were itching to see what the big man in red had given to them.
Regional Director of Sandals Resorts International in the Eastern Caribbean, Andre Dhanpaul said that as the Foundation celebrated its fifth anniversary this year, Sandals felt very fortunate to be in the position to hand out presents.
For the year, 13 thousand presents were handed out in the countries where they operate with 1000 disseminated in St. Lucia.
Children from Gros Islet through to Micoud were the lucky recipients.
Dhanpaul said; “Christmas is the time for sharing and we’re very happy that we can do our part.”
The Regional Director wishes everyone a Merry Christmas.
Music teacher at the school, Arthur Allen expressed gratitude to the Foundation for their joyful contribution this year and over the years past.
Allen said; “It’s a great way of uplifting the spirits of the children and helps them realise the importance of sharing during Christmas time.
He added: “They are very excited about their gifts and I think they too are very thankful to Sandals Foundation for the contribution.”
Following the gift giving, the children were treated to lunch courtesy of the resort chain.
