On July 25, 2020, Julian Touissant and Jason Sayers embarked on a 3 peak journey. Their climb would take them up and down Mount Gimie, Petit Piton and Gros Piton in approximately 9 hours inclusive of time from one peak to the other.
Mt. Gimie, the highest peak in Saint Lucia which stands at 3,117 ft was completed in 2 hour and 29 minutes and 19 seconds. The duo would then move onto Petit Piton, the least traversed and most treacherous of the 3 peaks which is 2,438 ft. After completing the climb in 2 hours, 9 minutes and 19 seconds, Sayers and Toussaint continued their journey onto the final peak in the trinity. Gros Piton at 2, 618.9 ft was conquered in 2 hours, 50 minutes and 40 seconds by the athletic pair.
With a climb time of approximately 7 hours, Julian Toussaint and Jason Sayers made history in Saint Lucia. The duo credits dedication to health and wellness as the hallmark of their success. The pair are no strangers to tests of endurance as they have completed the annual Northern Long Distance Independence Challenge around Saint Lucia for several years.
Tousssaint, is a certified Massage and Colon Hydro Therapist, owner of JT Healing Theraphy. He is a national karateka and fitness enthusiast, member of Road Busters Club.
Sayers is a decorated professional long-distance runner and member of Golden Stars Club in Martinique and Road Busters in Saint Lucia. He is a Sales and Marketing Executive at GTBS.
Sayers and Toussaint have broken the 18-hour record of climbing the 3 peaks by completing this feat in 9 hours.
