PARLIAMENTARY Representative for Vieux Fort South, Dr Kenny D. Anthony, has issued an appeal for assistance and support to a family of six whose home in his constituency was destroyed by fire last Tuesday evening.
The fire consumed not only the home but all the personal belongings of the family, despite the valiant efforts of his constituents and the Fire Service.
“The Saint Lucia Service deserve our thanks, praise and commendation. From all accounts, they did a remarkable job to contain the fire. They stopped what could have been a major conflagration. I was touched too by the efforts of the firemen to counsel and console the victims of the fire. I also applaud and thank my constituents who, as usual in such circumstances, rallied to the assistance and support of the family,” Anthony said.
The family of six includes three sisters, two young men and a four – year – old child. The family urgently requires clothes, food and other necessities. Donations of clothing in sizes 6, 14, and 18 for the ladies would be helpful. So too would be shoes in sizes of 6, 8 and 9. The young men carry pants in sizes of 32 and 34.
Anyone wishing to help, and assist can call members of the family directly at the following numbers: Stella Joseph- 716 2906 and Shawna Joseph -723 6923.
