Author Loverly Sheridan is currently engaged in a new round of herBuddy Ambassadors Campaign in Saint Lucia. The author was on island a few months ago to encourage primary schools students around Saint Lucia to “Be a Buddy, Not A Bully”. In this leg of the campaign Ms. Sheridan has already presented to the Ciceron Combined and Derniere Riviere Primary schools.
“I want to say a huge thank you to all the students I interact with during my presentations at the various schools, for embracing me and the concept of being a Buddy. I am truly in my element with our Buddy Ambassadors and enjoy every minute of spreading the message of love and kindness to them,”Ms. Sheridan said as she prepares to embark on a spin-off of the Buddy Benches.
In an innovative twist on the campaign to promote friendship, tolerance and inclusion, the Corinth Secondary School will be the first recipient of a “Take a Minute” Bench. This campaign is meant to promote mental wellness to teenagers and adults, and the benches will serve as a spot to recharge, reflect and reconnect to a desired state of calm and clarity.
The launching ceremony for the “Take a Minute” campaign will take place tomorrow Wednesday June 12, 2019 at 7:45a.m.
The Buddy Ambassadors/ Buddy Bench Campaign will continue through the end of the week at the following schools:
- Thursday June 13- Delcer Combined School at 9:15 a.m;
- Banse La Grace Combined School at 1:00 p.m.

Tolerance and kindness can be learned from songs, which can help combat bullying. “Be a Buddy, Not a Bully” is a song that could help to combat bullying by teaching kids kindness & tolerance. I was a teacher for 20 years. 12,900 hits to this song site have been made so far.

“Positivity” is another song that could help.
