PRESS RELEASE – Continuing with its program of facilitating the Chamber’s engagement with Key Government Officials at various levels on issues of importance to its members, the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture has organized another event in its Series of Encounters. This time members will have the opportunity to have a one on one engagement with the Honourable Prime Minister of St. Lucia.
The Encounter is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. November 15th 2018 at the Palmville Conference Room, Coco Palm Hotel.
The Chamber has requested that the Prime Minister provide an update on the many economic issues and programs announced in the 2018/2019 Budget. Significant Economic activity had been predicated on the commencement of a number of capital and private sector projects and as the sixth month mark approaches, an update on these initiatives would be welcomed.
Meanwhile, preparations for anther Budget Cycle is about to commence and insight into the Government’s Agenda is also a point of interest.
The Chamber Encounter Series is a key program for debate, dialogue, definition and understanding of Economic and Social Issues of interest to the institution.
Bringing Members together to discuss and seek clarification on the economy and on related issues is a critical component of the Chamber’s engagement system developed as part of its strategic transformation process.
The Chamber is meanwhile planning for its 134th Annual General Meeting scheduled for November 28th, 2018 where an interesting panel discussion on the theme “Invigorating the Local Investment Climate” will be held. Chamber members’ interest would be heightened to hear the Prime Minister’s policy perspective on this matter as a precursor.
The Chamber sees this address as the continuation of discussion and substantive dialogue on the Economy and its development and plans for its growth. This event also forms part of the celebrations of the Global Entrepreneurship Week and Business Month.
