THERE is plenty on offer at the literary exhibition for established and aspiring authors now on at the Blue Coral Mall in Castries.
As this seems to be the season for placing “literary arts” publications in the spotlight, Clement Wulf-Soulage, a regular contributor to THE VOICE is distinguishing himself amongst budding national authors.
The exhibition, which ends on February 28, features a wide range of works from poetry to economics.
One of Wulf-Soulage’s books, “Market Economy” is a business textbook dealing with the intrigues on global market economy. It is an attempt to simplify the complex terminology in the world of business and provide a linkage to the changing facets of modern business procedures.
A Clement Wulf-Soulage release, in part, states: “Globalisation recognises no borders in doing business… As a vehicle of globalisation in driving information technology, trade, capital markets, foreign direct investments and migration, it continues to redefine itself and create its own horizons.
“Market Economy is a comprehensive business English course book… and hence facts have been brought up-to-date and the text refined to cover the developments in economic policy and institutional changes over the last few years. In essence, Market Economy encourages students to: apply knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of economic activity from a range of perspectives; and develop the ability to make effective use of terminology, concepts and methods.”
Citing future opportunities in key global markets, Wulf-Soulage provides the context for the intersection of business, social investing, capital markets and the role of government.
Not surprisingly, the book features the St Lucian winner of the 1979 Nobel Prize in Economics, in whose honour, together with the 1992 Nobel Laureate in Literature Derek Walcott, the exhibition is being held.
In his publication, the writer prominently recognizes Sir Arthur Lewis as the virtual founder of development economics and attributes his work to the global realization that knowledge and human capital are the main determinants of economic performance, and hence the key to economic development.
Both of the author`s books are available locally at Book Salon, Castries and from Amazon.com.
