Lose Two Matches So Far.
IT has been a tough road to travel for Team Saint Lucia currently participating in the FIFA Under-20 World Cup campaign. In the two matches played to date in Curacao, the team has conceded nine goals in defeat.
The Saint Lucia team was hammered yet again, this time by Trinidad and Tobago by a 4-0 margin in their Group B match-up in the Caribbean Football Union final round at the ErgilioHato Stadium in Willemstad on Monday.
Following the 5-0 drubbing in their opening encounter against Haiti on Saturday, the Saint Lucians needed to come big against the Trinidadians, but that was not to be. The Trinidadians, too, needed a win to stay alive after their 0-0 draw against Cuba.
Leading the way for Trinidad and Tobago was Nicholas Dillon with a hat trick. Dillon scored in the 5th, 28th and 70th minutes. Noah Powder notched the other goal to secure the three points for Trinidad and Tobago.
Saint Lucia took on Cuba last evening in their final encounter.
The top two teams will advance to the tournament semifinals as well as the CONCACAF final round in Costa Rica towards the 2017 Under-20 World Cup in South Korea.
