.

Twenty-two Grade Six students of Blanchard Combined School are celebrating a remarkable achievement following the official launch of The World Through Our Eyes, a 260-page anthology featuring more than 100 stories, essays, compositions and illustrations created by the young authors. Officially launched on Monday, October 19, 2026, the publication represents a significant milestone for the students and the wider school community. It also marks the first project funded by the Massy Foundation since its inaugural launch in Saint Lucia in April 2026, demonstrating the Foundation’s commitment to expanding educational opportunities and nurturing young talent.

Developed through a collaboration between Blanchard Combined School and Jako Productions, the anthology captures the imagination, creativity and lived experiences of young Saint Lucians, providing students with an opportunity to see their work professionally published and shared with a wider audience.

Speaking at the launch on behalf of Massy Stores Saint Lucia, Kelly Mitchell, Chairman of the Massy Foundation Advisory Panel, emphasized the importance of investing in education and creating opportunities for young people to realize their potential. “Today, we are celebrating more than the publication of a book. We are celebrating creativity, determination, the power of education and the limitless potential of our young people,” Mitchell stated. “In a world increasingly filled with digital distractions, initiatives like these remind us of the importance of nurturing literacy, critical thinking and self-expression. Our young people must understand that their ideas matter, their voices deserve to be heard, and their circumstances should never define the limits of their potential.”

The Massy Foundation operates across four strategic pillars: Food Security, Education, Health & Wellness, and Environmental Sustainability. Through grant funding and strategic partnerships, the Foundation supports initiatives designed to create meaningful, measurable and sustainable community impact. The publication of The World Through Our Eyes reflects the Foundation’s Education pillar, demonstrating how collaboration among educators, families, community organizations and corporate partners can create transformative learning experiences.

Special recognition was extended to Mrs. Nigeleen Samuel-Hubert, the Grade Six teacher whose dedication and guidance helped transform the students’ writing portfolios into a published anthology, along with Principal Merle Langillier-Emanuel, the leadership of Blanchard Combined School, Jako Productions and the other supporting partners. Mitchell encouraged the young authors to view their achievement as the beginning of even greater possibilities. “Never stop reading. Never stop writing. Never stop imagining. Your stories have been published. Now, go out and write your own stories of success!” Massy Stores Saint Lucia remains committed to supporting initiatives that advance education, empower young people and strengthen communities, reinforcing its broader corporate social responsibility and sustainability agenda.
