A proud daughter of Laborie, Ivy Lewis, founder and owner of the family-led junior carnival band Zing Zing Kidz, is celebrating another remarkable achievement in South Florida.

The band captured its second consecutive Band of the Year title at the 2026 Miami Broward Junior Carnival, held earlier this month.

Under the spectacular portrayal “Birds of a Feather — Together We Soar,” Zing Zing Kidz made a clean sweep of the competition, capturing all five major titles: Band of the Year, King of the Band, Queen of the Band, Male Individual, and Female Individual.

Adding to this extraordinary achievement was Lewis’s granddaughter, Heziyah Morris, who captured her third consecutive Queen of the Band title, having won in 2024, 2025, and 2026.

Heziyah’s success continues a proud family tradition of carnival royalty. Her mother, Ebonie Lewis, previously placed second in Queen, an adult carnival competition, while her aunt Channise Lewis and uncle Carlylian Lewis were crowned Junior Carnival Queen and King in Miami.

The band’s award-winning portrayal was brought to life through the exceptional creativity of designer Lisa Durity Mollineau, whose artistic vision contributed significantly to the band’s success.

For Ivy Lewis, these victories represent more than trophies. They symbolize family unity, cultural pride, and a commitment to preserving Caribbean carnival traditions for future generations.

From Laborie, Saint Lucia, to Miami, Florida, the Lewis family continues to make its mark on the carnival stage, proudly carrying Saint Lucian heritage across generations.
