On Sunday October, 18 2026, about 2:20 p.m., the Vieux-Fort Police Station received a report of a burglary at the Saint Lucia Customs & Excise office at the Hewanorra International Airport. A team from the Criminal Investigations Department, Vieux-Fort Police Station was dispatched to investigate. Preliminary investigations revealed that a vault and a pistol were reported missing.
An investigation into this matter is progressing smoothly with collaboration among the three law enforcement agencies: Customs and Excise, Ports Police and the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force. More than ten “persons of interest” have been interviewed, and searches executed, said the RSLPF. The team continues to work assiduously towards bringing closure to this matter.
