
The Institute of Surveyors {St. Lucia Inc} {ISSL}, has elected a new executive to chart the way forward. The new executive is headed by Margaret Ann Charles. The Institute of Surveyors, of which Charles is a founding member, held its annual general meeting recently. Margaret Ann Charles, a Quantity Surveyor, last served as the Treasurer of ISSL and is also a former lecturer at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College {SALCC}, Morne Fortune. She is a graduate of University of Technology in Jamaica formerly known as CAST, College of Science and Technology. Other executive members are Vice President; Timothy Ferdinand, Secretary: Conrad Emmanuel, Treasurer: Tedburt Theobalds, Director Land Surveying: Ronald Polius, Director Quantity Surveying: Clint Alcindor, Director Valuation Surveying: Linford Gibb, with Andy Actie as the Public Relation Officer. The Immediate Past President is Clive Hippolyte. The ISSL has over 100 professionals comprising Quantity, Valuation, Building, Land and Agricultural Surveyors. At the moment the major focus of the ISSL is a new Surveyors Bill to be presented to the Parliament before the end of the year and after full consultation with all Stakeholders and the general public.
