Petra Baptiste Appointed as CGA Ambassador to Bridge the Diaspora

​In a significant move to strengthen the ties between the Caribbean and its European diaspora, the Caribbean Global Awards (CGA) has officially announced the appointment of Petra Baptiste as their newest Ambassador for France. A proud Saint Lucian native, Ms. Baptiste is a visionary multidisciplinary creative and cultural advocate known for bridging the gap between Caribbean tradition and global platforms.

​Following a direct invitation from the CGA leadership, Ms. Baptiste has accepted the mandate to serve as the official representative within the French jurisdiction, championing the excellence of Caribbean people.

A Mission of Unity and Excellence

​The appointment comes at a pivotal time for the Caribbean Global Awards as they expand their mission to celebrate excellence, promote cultural pride, and foster innovation across the globe. As the CGA Ambassador for France, Petra Baptiste will represent the CGA at high-level regional and international engagements, promote key initiatives, campaigns, and events within European professional and social networks, facilitate partnerships, nominations, and participation from Guyana and the wider Caribbean community.

​She will also be responsible for providing local leadership to ensure the CGA’s growth resonates within the French cultural landscape.

​Petra Baptiste brings an impressive portfolio to the role. Her work as an educator and cultural advocate spans literature, fashion, and heritage. She recently debuted her Caribbean carnival costume collection during Paris Fashion Week 2026, a defining moment that brought the vibrant spirit of Saint Lucia and the wider region to the pinnacle of global high fashion.

Literary Recognition: An award-winning book reviewer whose voice has been amplified through international media appearances.

Community Leadership: As the founder of Island Empress & Island Emperor, she leads a movement dedicated to celebrating Caribbean men and women both at home and abroad.
