Over the past week, law enforcement has been actively probing a series of homicides across the country.
On Saturday, April 12, at approximately 3:57 a.m., officers from the Anse La Raye Police Station responded to reports of a shooting in Durandeau, Millet.
Initial information revealed that one individual had sustained gunshot injuries. Soon after, the body of the male victim was discovered along the Durandeau Highway and attended to by the Saint
Lucia Fire Service. The victim, identified as 48-year-old Lucus Edwin from Belair, Castries, was pronounced dead on the scene by a medical practitioner.
Investigations into this incident are ongoing, and a post-mortem is scheduled for a later date.

On Wednesday, April 8, at around 6:55 a.m., officers from the Laborie Police Station responded to the discovery of a lifeless body at Kennedy Highway, Laborie.
The victim, identified as 41-year-old Shakia Laurent, was found with apparent gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
Investigations are still in progress, and a post-mortem will be conducted at a later date.
Additionally, on Monday, April 6, at approximately 6:10 a.m., officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) responded to a report of a stabbing in Pierrot, Vieux Fort.
The victim was identified as 31-year-old Jason Francis from Vigier, Vieux Fort. He had sustained a stab wound and was transported to St. Jude Hospital by the Saint Lucia Fire Service, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Following this incident, officers arrested Terry Moffat from Pierrot on the charge of murder. On Friday, April 10, CID officers officially charged him, and he was remanded in custody at the Bordelais Correctional Facility after appearing in the Second District Court.
On Thursday April 9, 2026, the Police Marine Investigative Unit and Special Services Unit, of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) conducted a joint police operation to execute a Warrant to Search Premises stemming from ongoing investigations reference to a theft of a Motorcycle at the Marine Unit Pond at Vigie, Castries.
During the operation one (1) Warrant to Search Premises was executed on a location at Careille, Castries.
As result of the search officers discovered a quantity of Cannabis Resin weighing two thousand, one hundred (2,100) kilograms, with a street value of seventy-three thousand (EC$73,000.00) dollars. As a result, two occupants of the premises were arrested.
On Sunday April 12, 2026, both suspects were formally charged, for the offence of Possession of Cannabis Resin and Possession of Cannabis Resin with Intent to Supply.
On Monday April 13, 2026, Phil Campbell was escorted to the First District Court Where Campbell, a Jamaican National, pleaded guilty and was fined the sum of twenty ($20,000.00) dollars cash to be paid in seven (7) days or spend six (6) months in prison. In the case of the second suspect, Chaud Winter of Careille, charges were dropped and he is no longer a suspect in the previous offence of Possession of Cannabis along with Phil Campbell.
On Friday April 10, 2026, officers attached to the Special Operations Team conducted a stop and search of a motor vehicle in Castries.
During the search, officers recovered a quantity of Cannabis, weighing 0.72 kilograms, with a street value of seven thousand, two hundred ($7200.00) dollars. The occupant of the vehicle Jayhan Tommy of Monchy was arrested.
On Sunday April 12, 2026, Jayhan Tommy was formally charged for Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply.
On Monday April 13, 2026, Jaylan Tommy was escorted to the Second District Court and was granted bail in the sum of one thousand ($1000.00) dollars cash or suitable surety.
