Law enforcement officials successfully managed a relatively calm Easter holiday weekend. However, investigations are ongoing in the southern community regarding a stabbing incident, and in an unrelated incident in which a lifeless body was discovered.
The police are currently investigating a stabbing incident that occurred in Pierrot, Vieux Fort, on Monday.
The victim has been identified as Jason Francis, a 31-year-old resident of Vigier, Vieux Fort.
Reports indicate that at approximately 6:10 a.m., officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) responded to the scene where Francis had sustained a stab wound. He was transported to St. Jude Hospital by the Saint Lucia Fire Service but tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
A suspect is in custody and is assisting authorities with the ongoing investigation. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place at a later date.

Additionally, Law enforcement officers are currently investigating the discovery of a lifeless body at Canelles Beach in Micoud.
On Monday, March 16, at approximately 9:30 a.m., officers from the Micoud Police Station responded to reports of the finding. At the scene, they discovered the body of a partially decomposed male, who appeared to have suffered multiple lacerations.
A medical practitioner pronounced the victim dead at the scene, and as of now, he has not been identified.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
