Sapphire Parks continued to stamp her authority on the pool on Sunday, April 5, delivering another outstanding performance at the 39th CARIFTA Aquatics Championships in Martinique.
Competing in the 11–12 girls’ division at the Pierre Samot Community Aquatic Centre in Le Lamentin, the St Joseph’s Convent student-athlete added three more medals to her growing tally, bringing her total to six — including three gold — at this year’s championships.
Parks advanced to four finals on the day and once again proved her versatility and endurance. She captured gold in the grueling 400m individual medley, touching the wall in 5:34.39 to secure the top spot on the podium.

She followed up with two silver medal performances — clocking 30.49 in the 50m butterfly and 1:11.97 in the 100m backstroke — both strong, competitive swims against the region’s best.
Parks narrowly missed out on another podium finish in the 200m freestyle final, placing fourth by the slimmest of margins in a tightly contested race.
With six medals already secured, Parks continues to be one of Saint Lucia’s brightest stars in the pool, leading the charge for Team Saint Lucia in Martinique.
