Local football enthusiasts are getting ready for an electrifying weekend as the Veterans Football Championships reach its climax.
After weeks filled with passion, pride, and pure football energy, the excitement is palpable as the competition approach this weekend’s thrilling events.
Organized by Veterans in Sports Inc. this year’s final round is aptly titled: Weekend Explosion – The Ultimate Showdown. On Saturday at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds (PMG) in Vieux Fort, Soufriere Veterans will try to see off Vieux Fort South in the third-place playoff match in the Plate division.
The grand final of the Plate will feature Vieux Fort North trying to beat a resilient Marchand Veterans team.
The top tier of veterans football will be in action on Sunday with a clash of the Dennery team for the third place trophy. Valley Legends and All Blacks face off assured that the third place trophy will stay in Dennery.
The top prize will be awarded after a much anticipated clash between Central Vieux Fort and a strong Gros Islet Veterans team, a match with all to play for.
