Monchy FC and New Generation FC Shine in ‘Bay Bay Cup’ Opening Fixture

Monchy FC and New Generation FC delivered impressive performances in the opening matches of the ‘Bay Bay Cup’ on Sunday at the Francis “Baba” Lastic Grounds.

In the first match, New Generation FC overwhelmed Dominators FC from Grand Riviere with a staggering 9-0 victory. Captain Yanic Noel and Shevon Byron both impressed with hat tricks, scoring in the 51st, 69th, and 70th minutes, and the 26th, 72nd, and 78th minutes, respectively.

Additionally, Aaron Richards contributed a goal in the 12th minute, followed by Lee Edward in the 23rd. The final score was rounded out by an unfortunate own goal from Tennyson Burke in the 64th minute.

The second match saw Monchy FC secure a 2-0 win against Northern United, thanks to a brace from Troy Greenidge, who found the back of the net in the 5th and 60th minutes.

The tournament is organized by the Gros Islet Football League [GIFL] , with key sponsorship from District Representative Kenson “Bay Bay” Casimir and the Saint Lucia National Lotteries Authority (SLNA).

Matches continue today (Wednesday) at the FBLG with two exciting encounters:

– Gros Islet Veterans vs Police at 6:30 p.m.
– GMC United vs Gros Islet Youth at 8:30 p.m.
