As part of its commitment to youth empowerment, Tropical Shipping launched an inaugural education scholarship programme this week. The awardees included a total of five graduates from primary schools within the Castries basin who had successfully completed their CPEA and qualified for assistance. Each student received a voucher for $1,850 EC to cover the cost of schoolbooks and uniforms.
“We’re excited to start this programme that helps students thrive,” said Tropical Shipping St. Lucia Island Manager Eldris Pierre-Mauricette. “When children don’t have to worry about how to pay for supplies, it helps build their confidence and sets them up for success. Tropical believes in supporting the communities we serve. It’s part of our commitment to island life and social responsibility.”
The scholarship recipients were recommended by their schools based on their academic history and financial need. The award ceremony took place August 6th at the Tropical Shipping Castries office and students were accompanied by their parents.
Tropical has served St. Lucia since 1983, providing on-time, reliable shipping.
