Yasmine St.Ange Leads Women Cricketers

TWENTY two year old cricketer Yasmine St.Ange will lead a thirteen member women’s national cricket team in a series of matches scheduled Dominica from July 10 – 15.

Captained St. Ange who is currently pursuing her major in Sports Science at the University of the West Indies also captained St. Lucia last year in the West Indies Cricket Board’s 50 over tournament.

The right arm fast medium bowler and right hand batter told The VOICE that the team is a decent one with a number of good bowlers and batters that makes it a perfect blend.

She said, “We just have to put it together against the opposition and on any given day we can be a force to be reckoned with.

At the conclusion of these matches, a Northern Windward Islands Team will be selected to participate in the West Indies Cricket Board’s Super 50 Tournament which will be hosted in Trinidad and Tobago from August 3 -17.

St.Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada will play each other in a similar contest from July 16 -19 in Grenada to select the Southern Windward Island Team.

The reserves are – Eugenia Hippolyte and Marlene Preville.
