The life of 27-year-old Shaquile “Smiley” Auguste was cut short on Saturday morning after being admitted to the hospital.
The Babonneau resident was a victim of a drive-by shooting that occurred in the community on Friday night.
According to reports, Auguste was “on the road when the vehicle approached and a shooter fired several rounds in his direction.”
Auguste was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries the next morning.
Police have launched an investigation into this homicide.
