Law enforcement officials have announced the extradition of Jahvis Marlon Alfred, a 26-year-old resident of Wiltons Yard, Castries, to the French island of Martinique, where he faces several serious charges.
On Thursday, September 17, 2026, Alfred was extradited after surrendering to French authorities. This move was made possible through established legal cooperation agreements between Saint Lucia and France.
Alfred is wanted by French authorities for multiple counts of armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, possession of firearms and ammunition, as well as other firearm-related offenses.
Notably, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Criminal Court of Martinique on November 19, 2021.
Following his arrest during a law enforcement operation on February 7, 2026, he was held at the Bordelais Correctional Facility under a provisional arrest warrant pending extradition. This case highlights the critical role of international collaboration in tackling crimes that cross borders.
Importantly, fleeing a jurisdiction does not terminate the investigative or judicial process.
