As long as there’s greed, there will always be criminality!

To deal with the fundamentals of criminality, we have to take the bull by the horn. That is so, because today everyone is worried and talking about the escalation of crime, especially murders. But the reasons and circumstances that cause such situations to exist are usually ignored.

The main reason for the escalation of crime is rooted in need, want, desire, greed and we believe in the  concept of having to do anything to obtain more or have plenty. From the top to the bottom is always the same thing: to attain more, to have more than the other, to be the Bigger Don. The man at the top employs those at the bottom  to do their dirty work for them to obtain more profits, and equally the man at the bottom  is trying to gain or get what the man at the top has.

Criminality is all about networking, as many persons are involved in supporting each other.

You may be surprised to know that family and close friends from abroad that have better access to guns and drugs and any other form of illigal goods are involved in obtaining and transferring such needs to their particular links, so if you do due diligence by knowing the link or the source of supply, you may be on the right track. Then, on arrival, one has to link up with persons that can be paid to let such goods go through, then there are the enablers, who will store or secure the goods.

You now have to find buyers, persons  who crave those who are in need and want and they too are hoping to profit from the transaction. If by chance you are caught or apprehended, if you can pay the right lawyer or find the particular police officer who will defuse the evidence, you can get away even with murder.

So, as long as there is a need to gain by any means necessary, there will always be persons involved in criminality.

As for those employed to fight crime, they too are looking for their pound of flesh, as long as they can be paid off they will find loopholes. In my personal opinion,  the police force should  be more electronic and intellectual-based and should find thinkers and planners, rather persons who are equally street-smart, rather than having  more boots on the ground.

The legal system on the other hand is rigid and old-fashioned, full of red tape and old methods that need to be rethought. After all, you cannot do things in the same old way and expect new results.

Those involved in criminality are smart, they know how to cover their tracks, how to mislead, they are street smart, so those who intend to suppress criminality have to be one stage ahead, just as smart or smarter, to outsmart the criminals.

As long as there is wants and needs, frustration and greed, there will be those bold-enough to take chances.

We as a nation will never be able to have a crime-free society, but we can minimize it by doing more than is done at present.

Family, both home and abroad, play a pivotal role as enablers as long as it benefits them, their children are always described as being good and helpful boys.

The government  on the other hand must hire the right persons to defend their policies.

We also have to make examples of those caught to deter the followers. We cannot  continue to feel  sorry or make excuses for those who violate the law.

I have said it before that for there to be a dent in criminality some white collar criminals or facilitators have to be apprehended and brought before the law, as they too must be made examples of if justice is the ultimate goal.

More honest and committed persons  have to become watchmen. You cannot put rats to watch cheese, so I suggest  that with the assistance of electronic surveillance, animals where necessary such as police dogs, and better surveillance modules to ensure that from our ports to the airways and imported goods, services is thoroughlly managed and protected, it is then and only then we may see a dent in what has become the usual.

In the old ways and days, wars were won by invasions and deployment of soldiers on the enemies’ territories but now there are new means, new methods of destroying without putting a foot ashore.

Finally, parents have to discourage their children from taking the easy way out.

The bottom line is: as long as there is discontentment, persons wanting more, persons dissatisfied with what they have or possess, then that material quest will be the factor we have to deal with.
