After a six-year hiatus, Mercury Fest is back, reinvigorated and ready to take Saint Lucia by storm. The popular beach-party and boating event ran from 2018 to 2019 before being paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year, Saint Lucia will host Mercury Fest 2026 from August 14–16, marking a vibrant return of this beloved beachside festival.

In partnership with Epic Events, the island is gearing up for an electrifying celebration of music, dance, and Caribbean culture. The event will transform coastal areas into lively hubs of entertainment, attracting international visitors.

With an emphasis on immersive experiences and local artistry, Mercury Fest aims to boost tourism and showcase Saint Lucia’s dynamic spirit. Organizers and stakeholders are planning an exciting galore weekend extravaganza at the iconic Pigeon Point landmark, emphasizing the nation’s commitment to cultural and economic growth through high-impact events.

Louis Lewis, CEO of the Saint Lucia Hotel & Tourism Authority (SLTA), highlighted the synergy between Saint Lucia and the nearby French Isles, describing it as a ‘marriage’ of different cultures and interests. He noted the festival’s importance in engaging the French market, particularly visitors from Martinique, with plans to expand outreach to other French Isles.

“The event is crucial for us,” Lewis stated during the media launch panel. “It’s no accident that we have this perfect collaboration between the private and public sectors.”

He pointed out that Martinique ranks as the fifth largest tourism market, following Canada, and emphasized its significance for Saint Lucia: “It not only brings in visitors but also generates economic benefits for the destination.”

Lewis further assessed the economic advantages of hosting Mercury Fest, positioning Saint Lucia as a leader in regional festival events. “It’s not just about hosting an event; it’s about attracting visitors to Saint Lucia for tangible economic benefits. That’s why we’re partnering with private entities to structure this event differently from previous years to maximize those benefits.”

Emphasizing the importance of the French market, Lewis remarked that the demographic profile of attendees aligns well with the island’s hospitality sector, noting that engaging activities will encourage them to explore, spend, and enjoy the unique attractions of Saint Lucia.

Other panelists praised the festival’s appeal, which will feature three vibrant experiences spread over three days, each encapsulating a distinct blend of activities.

Lorraine Sidonie, CEO of the Events Company of Saint Lucia (ECSL), highlighted how the festival fosters business partnerships to create an exceptional event.

Pickely Francis, Director of Epic Events, and a member of the Organizing Committee, described the festival as a natural evolution for Saint Lucia, promoting its lifestyle brand and community. “This marriage between the private sector and government is designed to elevate Saint Lucia on the global market,” he noted, emphasizing opportunities for island tours to showcase the destination’s beauty.

An exciting addition to the event is the Poker Run, as highlighted by Richard Devaux, Director of Poker Run. This segment allows participants to navigate the island’s coastal waters while experiencing its unique sites and natural wonders.

Summing up the festive atmosphere, Sheldon Mitchel of Epic Events remarked that previous events in 2018 and 2019 demonstrated the festival’s value for Saint Lucia, leading to the decision to expand it into a weekend activity. He explained that the event’s “marriage” includes the Gros Islet Friday Night Street Party, beach activities, and offerings for boating enthusiasts, providing a weekend packed with options for everyone.

Additionally, Saint Lucia’s distinctive cuisine will be showcased in a specialized Food Court featuring a Fish Festival menu for patrons to enjoy.

Get ready for an unforgettable weekend at Mercury Fest 2026.
