The SLFA Inc. junior league competitions have recently produced thrilling highlights, showcasing the talents of both male and female players.
On Saturday, May 9, the SLFA Inc. Primary Schools Boys Under 12 District League continued at the Technical Centre in Grand Riviere Dennery, with victories for Micoud, Mabouya Valley, and Marchand.
In an East Coast derby, Micoud maintained their unbeaten streak, narrowly defeating Dennery 1-0, thanks to a goal from Gervi Altidore in the 46th minute.
Defending champions Mabouya returned to their winning form, overwhelming Anse La Raye with a commanding 4-0 victory. The team’s goals included a brace from Nickeige Fenelon in the 6th and 47th minutes, along with strikes from Zachim Francois and Zaied Willie in the 1st minute and added time, respectively.
Marchand showcased their consistent performance by edging out Vieux Fort South 1-0, with a decisive goal from Lendel Calderon in the 58th minute.
Additionally, on Saturday, in the final match of the SLFA Inc. District League Under 13 Girls competition, Dennery and Desruisseaux` played to a thrilling 1-1 draw at the Grace Playing Field in Vieux Fort.
Trudy Joseph put Dennery ahead in the 30th minute, but Falonn Antoine equalized for Desruisseaux in the 59th minute. Following the exciting match, all players and technical staff were presented with medals to celebrate their efforts.
