The Office of the Governor General has advised that His Excellency Sir Cyril E. M. Charles, Governor General of Saint Lucia, traveled to Martinique for medical attention earlier this week..
In accordance with section 22(1)(c) of the Constitution of Saint Lucia, Mr. Felix Finisterre has been appointed to deputise for His Excellency and to perform such functions of the Office as may be specified during this period.
The Office has assured the public that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure continuity in the execution of the duties of the Office of the Governor General and the conduct of official business continues uninterrupted.
The Governor General and his family respectfully request the prayers and well wishes of the people of Saint Lucia during this time. His Excellency is accompanied by his wife, Lady Anicia Charles.
