RSLPF Launches Investigation into Homicide in Bois Patat

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) is actively investigating a stabbing incident that resulted in the death of a male victim in Bois Patat, Castries.

The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Germaine Modeste of the same area.

According to reports, on Thursday, March 12, at approximately 6:10 p.m., officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) responded to a report of a stabbing. The victim was transported to the Owen King European Hospital (OKEU) via private vehicle, where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

Investigations are ongoing, and a post-mortem examination is scheduled for a later date.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the CID at 456-3817 or 456-3770. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by calling 555 (the Crime Hotline) or using the RSLPF Crime Hotline Application available on the Google Play Store.

In a separate operation on Wednesday, March 11, officers from the Gangs, Narcotics, and Firearms Unit, Special Services Unit, and Central Intelligence Unit executed five search warrants in the communities of La Pansee, Talvan, Bogius, Ti Chemin, and Cacoa.

During a search at the residence of Nagga Shane Jn. Phillip in La Pansee, officers seized a Sig Sauer 9mm pistol along with 30 rounds of 7.65 ammunition and 20 rounds of .380 ammunition. Jn. Phillip has been arrested and charged with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.

He was also apprehended on an outstanding $20,000 warrant related to a prior firearm possession charge and had previously been found with a 9mm pistol at his residence in September 2023. He has been remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility following his appearance in the First District Court.

Additionally, a warrant was executed at the premises of Natham Toussaint, also known as ‘AJ,’ in Talvan, Babonneau where a quantity of cannabis was discovered. Toussaint has been charged with possession of controlled drugs and granted bail in the amount of $1,500.00 on his own recognizance.

The police continue to urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
