Vieux Fort South (VFS) defeated Central Castries 2–1 in the SLFA Inc. Senior Women’s Football competition, this week , at the Anse La Raye Playing Field, securing the top position on the points table.
Under the theme “Let Them,” the women’s soccer league has been progressing smoothly, featuring some intense competition.
In the match, on Tuesday, Kisheena Ince scored both goals for Vieux Fort South, finding the net in the 43rd and 49th minutes. Annicka Louis, a national player, scored for Central Castries in the 71st minute.
In another match played on the same day, Desruisseaux dominated Choiseul with a staggering 9–0 victory, enjoying a productive “field day.”
The goal scorers included Kyla Lionel, who netted twice in the 16th and 20th minutes, Meurissia Prince with two goals in the 37th and 55th minutes, and Merliz Samuel, who scored in the 42nd and 59th minutes. Additional contributions came from Joedyn Jn. Pierre in the 27th minute and Raina Modeste in the 57th minute.
Matches continued on Wednesday night at the Anse La Raye Playing Field.
Canaries was in a no-nonsense mood as they hammered Anse La Raye 9 – 0. This was achieved courtesy of an outstanding performance from Cassandra Shepherd with a haul trick in the 22nd, 42nd, 68th, 70th, 76th, 79th and 80th minutes. The rout was completed by Theona Auguste 23rd and Jn. Baptiste in the 58th minute.
