Under-12 Qualifiers Set for Challenging Finals

Soufriere and Gros Islet have solidified their positions at the top of the points standings in their respective groups as the final round of matches for the first stage of the SLFA Inc. Boys Under-12 District League football competition concluded last Saturday (July 5).

A remarkable total of 110 goals were scored, including one standout hat-trick and five others recorded throughout the matches.

After the first stage, the points standings were as follows:

Group 1: Soufriere – 16 pts , Mon Repos – 13 pts , Anse La Raye – 12 pts , Micoud – 10 pts , Choiseul – 6 pts , Vieux Fort North – 3 pts , and Laborie – 0 pts

Group 2: Gros Islet – 16 pts, Central Castries – 16 pt, Roseau Valley – 12 pts, Marchand – 5 pts, Babonneau – 4 pts, La Clery – 3 pts , and South Castries – 1 pt

The teams advancing to the second stage of the competition are undeniably Soufriere, Mon Repos, and Anse La Raye from Group 1; and Gros Islet, Central Castries, and Roseau Valley from Group 2.

The group leaders will join the four ceded teams—Dennery, Desruisseaux, Mabouya Valley, and Vieux Fort South—in the second stage, which will feature a single round competition.

Following the second stage, the top four teams will securely advance to the semi-finals and finals.

The second stage is set to kick off on Saturday, July 12, and will conclude on September 7, with a total of 45 matches on the schedule.

In parallel, the SLFA Inc. Senior Women’s competition under the theme “Let Them Play” resumed on Tuesday, July 8, at the Anse La Raye Playing Field with a doubleheader.

The match fixtures were as follows:

Desruisseaux vs. Canaries
Anse La Raye vs. Dennery

Currently, the points standings are: Vieux Fort South – 12 pts , Central Castries – 9 pts , Canaries – 9 pts , Dennery – 4 pts , Desruisseaux – 4 pts , Soufriere – 3 pts, Anse La Raye – 1 pt, and Choiseul – 1 pt

The teams will compete in a single round robin format.

At the end of this round, the top four teams will advance confidently to the semi-finals and finals.
