Despite intermittent showers, football action pressed on at the Gros Islet Playing Field on Saturday, June 28, as the penultimate round of the SLFA Inc. Boys Under-12 competition—powered by the Ministry of Youth Development & Sports, National Lotteries Authority, and ACADO—delivered two spirited encounters.
In the opening match of the day’s double-header, Roseau Valley edged past Babonneau with a narrow but hard-fought 1–0 victory. The lone goal came in the 35th minute courtesy of David Fitz, whose decisive strike sealed all three points for Roseau Valley.
The second fixture between South Castries and Marchand proved to be a crowd-pleaser, ending in an exciting 2–2 draw. South Castries got off to a strong start with Curvany Prospere opening the scoring in the 10th minute, followed by a Carani Marius effort in the 40th minute.
But Marchand refused to back down. Zakim John leveled the score in the 23rd minute, and Keylan St. Juste calmly slotted home a penalty in the 40th minute to ensure both teams shared the spoils.
With just one round remaining, teams are battling for top positions and momentum heading into the final stretch. Fans can expect more exciting football as the young talents continue to impress on the pitch.
