The dynamic duo clinched their second national title on Wednesday evening at the 2025 Saint Lucia National Table Tennis Championships, finishing the tournament undefeated with a flawless 4–0 record.

Having previously captured the title in 2023, Nurse and Calderon returned to the top of the podium in dominant fashion. Along the way, they dispatched the pair of Adrian Albert and Chris Wells in a 3–1 victory, and repeated that scoreline against Stephen Steele and Khamari Harris.

In the final, the champions were tested early by the strong pairing of Manie Eleuthere and Joshua Lubin, who took the opening game. However, Nurse and Calderon responded with poise and power, bouncing back to claim the next three games and seal the match 3–1.

Eleuthere and Lubin went on to secure second place after wins against both Wells and Albert, and Harris and Steele. The bronze medal match saw Albert and Wells outlast Harris and Steele, leaving them to settle for fourth.

The Saint Lucia National Table Tennis Association (SLNTTA) extended heartfelt congratulations to all the athletes and expressed appreciation to the supporters, officials, and volunteers who contributed to the success of the championship.

“We are proud of the incredible performances we witnessed this week,” the Association said in a statement. “We encourage the public to continue supporting our athletes as they represent the very best of Saint Lucian table tennis.”

The 2025 National Championships continue with more categories to be contested in the coming days.
